Taya (Vietnam) Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. was honored with the Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award under the “2017 National Green Economy Establishment and Development Charter”. The award ceremony took place yesterday morning (October 7) at the Hanoi Youth Theatre. Shen Shang-Tao, Executive Vice President of Taya (Vietnam), received the award on behalf of Ta Ya from Dr. Yan Wu-Kai, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; and Dr. Ruan Wen-Fu, Deputy Director for Department of Economics in the National Assembly of Vietnam.
The “2017 National Green Economy Establishment and Development Charter”, held by the Vietnam Central Committee for Economy and Environment Protection in conjunction with the General Bureau of Environment Protection, consists of four award categories: Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award, Environment Protection Brands, Environment-Friendly Products and Green Friendly Factories. Of all the awards, the Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award takes an overall evaluation of the company’s operation performance, law compliance, tax responsibilities, employee welfare and environment protection performance. Ta Ya (Vietnam) submitted the award application materials in July and accepted the award organizer’s on-site inspection in the manufacturing plant.
Ta Ya (Vietnam)’s President, Wang Ting-Shu, stated, “Vietnam has been undergoing rapid economic development in recent years. Besides encouraging foreign capital investment, Vietnam has been placing great focus on caring for its people and demanding much of enterprises, covering the aspects of economy, environments, or labor rights. This has been in line with Ta Ya Group’s management ethos in that we have inducted the ISO 14001 management system for the environment protection, being the first to use lead-free PVC as raw materials for the wires & cables. In terms of labor rights, we have also applied for various insurance policies for our employees and committed to the enhancement of employee welfare. We are extremely honored to receive the Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award, and it is also a great prestige for the entire Ta Ya Group.
Ta Ya (Vietnam) is an overseas subsidiary company of the Ta Ya Group, set up the factory in Đồng Nai in 1994 and then in Hải Dương in 2003. It was listed on the Vietnamese stock market in 2006, as the first wholly foreign-owned company in Vietnam to do so. It was exceptionally precious that it was twice awarded the Vietnamese National Quality Gold Award. In support of the government’s promulgation of the New South-Bound Policy, Ta Ya Group will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities and expand to the ASEAN markets such as Myanmar and Laos, with Vietnam as its production base.
