On the morning of the 9th, Taya Group employees once again went to the Erhjen Creek Story House to collect garbage near the Gang-Wei-Gou flood detention pond and made a commitment to Wetlands Taiwan to continue their efforts to promote wetland biodiversity in the next year.

Taya Pristine Homeland Foundation initiated its cooperation with the Wetlands Taiwan in 2017. The Taya Group employee family day was on March 18, where Taya employees planted butterfly food plants at the Gang-Wei-Gou flood detention pond of the Erhjen Creek Tributary and built ecological floating islands for migratory birds. On June 24, volunteers assembled again to remove invasive plants and attempted for the first time to approach the flood detention pond ecology by canoe.

On the morning of the 9th, around 60 employees and family members of Taya Groups subsidiaries Taya Electric Wire and Ta Heng Electric Wire collected garbage (mainly liquor bottles, beverage cups, and food packaging) along the embankment of the Gang-Wei-Gou flood detention pond under the guidance and direction of specialists of the Wetlands Taiwan on a chilly and drizzly day. It took over one hour to restore the cleanliness of the environment.

The ecological floating islands which were created on family day on employee family day in spring of this year are already full of life. However, the growth of the butterfly food plants and nectar plants falls short of expectations due to barren soil. Taya Pristine Homeland Foundation and Taiwan Wetland Protection Alliance plan to continue their joint efforts. Next year, it will be attempted to plant other species in different areas of the flood detention pond to attract a larger variety of insects to reproduce and thereby promote wetland biodiversity.

Taya has a symbiotic relationship with Gang-Wei-Gou Creek, which originates in the Guanmiao area and passes by Guiren and Rende before it merges with Erhjen Creek. It has been confirmed that Gang-Wei-Gou flood detention pond significantly alleviates flooding issues in the protection area. We sincerely hope that cooperation between the public and private sector will further enhance the ecological beauty and recreational value of this area for city residents.
