The Ta Ya Group hosted its 2018 Staff Family Day event today (17th), in which its staff members and their families were invited to plant nectar plants for butterflies at Gangweigou Brook's flood detention pond. The event also saw fun and engaging parent-child activities organized by the Family Education Center of the Bureau of Education, Tainan City Government, hoping that the employees would gain work-life balance as well as show love and protection for the beautiful environment by taking physical action.
The TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation once again collaborated with Wetlands Taiwan to plant nectar plants for butterflies around the Er-Ren River Museum to enrich the biodiversity of the local area. Having had a successful experience last year, this year's event saw the active participation of more than 120 members of staff and their families from four companies including Ta Ya, Ta Heng, AD Engineering, and Hengs Technology.
"There are two purposes for today's event: one is to come back to see the outcome of both the ecological island made at last Family Day and the continual weeding and embankment cleaning work done by Ta Ya's volunteers; another is to carry on doing a bit of work here on a yearly basis, so that people are bound to become more attached to this area," said Shen, Shang-Hung, the Chairman of the Ta Ya Group. Caring for the homeland is not just a slogan. Ta Ya's staff has indeed made contributions to this beautiful land we call home.

Cheng, Chung-Chieh, the Secretary General of Wetlands Taiwan thanked Ta Ya for their help in protecting the habitat, and he also called for all to participate in a variety of events at the Er-Ren River Museum. Preserving the ecology of the habitat requires the joint participation of both the public and private sectors. Today's event gathered Ta Ya, the Family Education Center, and volunteer students from the Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. The objectives of engaging in wetland management that started more than two years ago have now been realized preliminarily.

Big sage and Stachytarpheta jamaicensis planted during this year's event are some of the best nectar plants for butterflies and bees. The hedge that they form also works to improve the safety of the jetty. Under the guidance of Wetland Taiwan's volunteers, some made mixtures of vegetative soil and others fetched water to irrigate. Working together, they planted 600 seedlings.

They also participated in environmental educational activities in various groups during this Staff Family Day event. Led by volunteers of Wetlands Taiwan, the first group walked to Dajia Wetland, and on the way there, commentaries on the ecology were made at certain locations. The second group, led by instructor Su, Sen-Yung, played interactive games ("Teamwork with Numbers" and "Unlocking Love") and board role-playing games ("Ugly Doll" and "Delightful Clattering"), introducing the workers and their families to new family management concepts via fresh new fun activities.

The TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation will continue to collaborate with external organizations to promote a work-life balance and devote its efforts to being an enterprise trusted by its employees, its clients, its shareholders, and society.
