Ta Ya Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd (1609)’s subsidiary company in Vietnam was honored with the “Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award” to reward and celebrate its excellent performance in operation, compliance with the law, tax responsibilities, employee welfare and environment protection and so on. The award ceremony was held on October 7 in the Hanoi Youth Theatre. Shen Shang-Tao, Executive Vice President of TaYa (Vietnam), received the award on behalf of Ta Ya from Dr. Yan Wu-Kai, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations as well as Dr. Ruan Wen-Fu, Deputy Director for Department of Economics in the National Assembly of Vietnam.
Ta Ya (Vietnam)’s President, Wang Ting-Shu, stated, Vietnam has been undergoing rapid economic development in recent years. Besides encouraging foreign capital investment, Vietnam has been putting much focus on caring for its people and making demands for many of its enterprises, whether it is aspects of economy, environments, or labor rights.
Wang Ting-Shu pointed out that the demands imposed by the Vietnamese government have been aligned with Ta Ya Group’s management ethos in that we have inducted the ISO 14001 management system for protecting the environment, being the first to use lead-free PVC as raw materials for the wires & cables. In terms of labor rights, we have also applied for various insurance policies for our employees and committed to the enhancement of employee welfare. We are extremely honored to receive the Green Economy Sustainable Development Enterprise Award, and it is also a great prestige for the entire Ta Ya Group.
Ta Ya (Vietnam) set up the factory in Đồng Nai in 1994 and then in Hải Dương in 2003. It was twice awarded with the “Vietnamese National Quality Gold Award”, and was listed on the Vietnamese stock market in 2006 as the first wholly foreign-owned company in Vietnam.
Wang Ting-Shu stressed that in support of the government’s promulgation of the New South-Bound Policy, Ta Ya Group will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities and expand to the ASEAN markets such as Myanmar and Laos, with Vietnam as its production base.
