     President Tsai Ing-Wen was accompanied by Tainan City Mayor Lai Ching-Te to an afternoon visit at Ta Ya Group - a 61-year old local producer of wires and cables - in Guanmiao, Tainan. Tsai Ing-Wen reiterated in her speech that the Shalun Green Energy Industry Research and Development Center currently under development will greatly determine how Tainan and Taiwan may progress into the renewable and green energy business. She then invited everyone to help advance Taiwan's industries to the next generation. Ta Ya Group Chairman Shen Shang-Hung then explained how the Company has rooted its businesses in Taiwan and supported the government's new industrial policies by investing into green energy, and emphasized that Ta Ya is the first local cable manufacturer to adopt lead-free production, environmental label, and carbon footprint label at the same time. Tsai Ing-Wen thanked Ta Ya Group and other local businesses like it for the strong ambition they have demonstrated, and reiterated the importance of Shalun Green Energy Science City to the next generation of industries. Tsai Ing-Wen said that Shalun will see occupants such as research institutions and modern businesses. It is a crucial industrial project at this juncture, one that requires the utmost wisdom and persistence to realize.
