There has recently been a surge in the number of fundraising platforms around the world seeking for new innovations. Creative applications, whether they involve robotics, medical tools, drones, etc., all require "smart and energy-efficient motors" to power their movements. Meanwhile, the government is currently supporting the development of intelligent mechanics and advanced electronics, as well as encouraging businesses to adopt innovative technologies and make creative applications of their products, and the keys to accomplishing these goals are power and efficiency. Furthermore, energy and carbon reduction initiatives undertaken by governments around the world have given rise to demands for more efficient motors, and the need for revolutionary motor technologies.

One of the prevailing limitations for Taiwan's electromechanical industry is that it consists mostly of small and medium enterprises. Although they are quite competitive in manufacturing, they generally lack the capacity to perform innovative research and development, product validation, patent protection, and business expansion particularly when faced with competition from around the world. In an attempt to meet the world's rising demand for innovative design and performance, and restore the glory of Taiwan's electromechanical industry, five members of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association teamed up to form a new company called AMIT Co., Ltd. AMIT was founded partially to take advantage of the government's intelligent mechanics and advanced electronics policy. It features a team of elite players whose ultimate goal is to bring smart, powerful motors and innovative services to the market.

AMIT is all about best practices and knowledge service. Its existence will help Taiwanese manufacturers categorize, modularize and standardize their existing production technologies, and serve global customers better with the aid of proper software tools and cloud platform. AMIT's research and service focus will be aimed towards helping customers achieve technology upgrade, direct production and worldwide sales, while at the same time address many prevailing weaknesses of the industry such as new product development cycle, cloud service, and high value-adding research. Its ultimate mission is to help the local electromechanical industry progress into higher end applications.

AMIT offers four main services, namely: "subsystem design, testing and validation, production technology, and cloud." Starting from the design stage, AMIT takes into account customers' requirements such as performance, environmental protection and safety, and aims to address their needs through introduction of smart production technologies. Meanwhile, a cloud service platform is used to help local manufacturers connect with global customers.

Taiwan was once renowned for motor production. Even when faced with the uprise of Chinese competitors, the industry is fortunate to have "Electric Motor Technology Research Center" (founded by Professor Tsai Mi-Ching of National Cheng Kung University) take lead in proprietary research, and China Productivity Center organizing "Brushless Motor Application and Development Course" for three consecutive years to keep new ideas flowing. In 2014, Metal Industries Research and Development Centre took the initiative to unite Taiwan's electromechanical manufacturers with the establishment of Taiwan Motor Industry Association, hoping to create new success for Taiwan's electromechanical industry.

AMIT not only inherits the solid production technology and knowledge that the local electromechanical industry has accumulated to date, but aims to apply them to the benefit of customers worldwide through innovative service as well. It is entrusted with the mission of bringing Taiwan's electromechanical industry into new glory.
