Ta Ya Basketball Tournament [Reported by Sai Gon Giai Phong]

        [Sai Gon Giai Phong] This is the fourth Ta Ya Basketball Tournament held by Ta Ya Group, a Taiwanese company. The tournament provides a communications platform for the workers in Taiwan, with the goal of strengthening the body and making friends. The opening ceremony and match was held yesterday (8th) at Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Quan Tan Binh, Ho Chi Minh. President Wang, Ting-Shu of Ta Ya (Viet Nam) Electric Wire & Cable Joint Stock Company and many teams attended the opening ceremony.

 

        Nine teams participated this year, including 3 Taiwanese company teams (Ta Ya A, B, and C) consisting of workers in the southern provinces. The remaining 6 teams were from foreign companies that made investments in our country, including France, Japan, Team Manny Gram, VIET-PHI UNITED, Saigon bulls, and Vietnam brothers Pilipinas. Hsu, Yu-Cheng, the representative of the organizer, mentioned that 3 games are played every Sunday starting at noon. The entire tournament will conclude in 10 weeks. Nine teams will play in round robin. The 4 teams with the highest points will compete for the top 3 places on October 7th. The closing and awards ceremony will also take place on the same day. The sponsors for this year’s tournament are Delta Electronics, Eternal Prowess, Huang Cha Travels, Dong Nan Restaurant, Dong Chang Motor, TECO Vietnam.
