Out of concern for farmers' wellbeing, Ta Ya has been sponsoring "My One Acre of Farm" 2010 as a charity program to promote quality rice. This year was the first time that Ta Ya had actually participated in the harvest. On November 17, a 10-people harvest team consisting of employees and children from Ta Ya, Cuprime and Ta Heng departed early in the morning from the group's Taipei Wugu Office. Unfortunately, their day was met with pouring rain, but the employees still decided to continue their plan and go to Yuli Township, Hualien County.

Mr. Xia Baoming, the farmer, took everyone to a tour through the organic farms and invited them to the farmhouse. Mr. Xia gave visitors a brief explanation about farming, about how water is drawn from Yushan to irrigate organic farms, the various natural solutions of pesticide, and how farming work is divided among farmers. Although visitors did not get the chance to grab a sickle and harvest crops with their bare hands, they learned something that is not known to urban residents. While paying visit to the farmhouse, Mr. Xia introduced visitors to his barn and harvester, while Mrs. Xia offered Vietnamese delicacies. Their hospitality had made the visit worthwhile.
