Jhih-Guang Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the TAYA Group, held a grand groundbreaking ceremony in the Sanguzi section of Qigu District in Tainan City today (Sep. 29). Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung of the TAYA Group led Group executives and TAYA affiliated companies to participate together in wishing the project a smooth and successful completion. After the project is completed, it will become the largest fishery and electricity symbiosis solar power plant in Taiwan with a total installed capacity of 120 megawatts (MW). Creation of at least 3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity is anticipated over the next 20 years, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 4,110 Daan Park; meanwhile, revenue is expected to exceed NT$12 billion.
The groundbreaking ceremony of Jhih-Guang Energy’s Sanguzi ground-mounted fishery and electricity symbiosis solar power plant was held at 1:00 PM today. The ceremony was hosted by Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung of the TAYA Group, together with top Group executives including Vice Chairman Shen, Shang-Pang; President Shen, San-Yi; Executive Vice President Shen, Shang-Tao; and Group General Manager Chuang, Pa-Kuei; as well as President Chou, Heng Hao of Hengs Technology; President Chen, Chin-Pao of AD Engineering; and President Lin, Fu-chih of Ta Heng Electric Wire & Cable. These dignitaries worked together to shovel the soil and to pray for a smooth start for the project and successful foundation laying. This power plant is located in the Sanguzi section of the Qigu District of Tainan City with a total area of about 160 hectares and a total installed capacity of 120MW. It is expected that the first phase of 85MW will be completed by the end of next year (2022) and the second phase of 35MW will be completed in 2023. After its completion and commissioning, it will go beyond promoting upgrades of local aquaculture and fisheries and optimizing land use models to also promote a new economic model of green energy power generation.
This time, the TAYA Group is taking aim at the new economic advantage of symbiosis between fisheries and electricity. After this solar power plant is connected to the grid, the Group will have 62 solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 250MW. This will contribute power generation revenues of NT$1.5 billion each year, and can supply a total of 90,000 households with electricity annually. The TAYA Group is committed to promoting energy transformation and to energy connections between different industries, enhancing the socio-economic synergy of photovoltaic green energy and linking the daily lives of beautiful homes.
