After corporate volunteers from the TAYA Group’s TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation participated in the Forestry Bureau Chiayi Forest District Office’s trail building working holiday in March 5 this year (2022), Ta Ya Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the TAYA Group, once again injected 3 years of afforestation funds, with the Chiayi Forest District Office responsible for carrying out afforestation work on the company’s behalf. On June 6, more than 20 employees and representatives of affiliated companies, led by Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung, proceeded to Shanshang District of Tainan City to plant Formosan Ash trees, known locally as "white chicken oil". The Formosan Ash is native to Taiwan and is highly adaptable to the local soil and climate. This initiative epitomizes the Group’s concrete commitment to put into practice environmental sustainability concepts.

The Chiayi Forest District Office stated that the TAYA Group is deeply involved in developing cutting edge wire and cable technology, thereby empowering Taiwan's industry and economic stability. At a time of global climate change, the Group is also actively involved in the green energy and green power generation industry, and is committed to becoming a leading brand in energy linkage. In 2011, TAYA Group established the TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation, calling on employees and their families to participate in volunteer services to contribute to long-term social welfare, upholding the concepts of environmental protection, life care, and global sustainability, and implementing environmentally friendly actions to promote the wellbeing of people and the environment, becoming a driving force for a friendly environment and beautiful homelands, thereby realizing the Group’s corporate vision. This year (2022), the Group adopted and donated funds to maintain 2.24 hectares of state-owned land in Nanxi, Shanshang, and Nanhua Districts of Tainan City for 3 years of afforestation work, including the planting of 4,075 trees, including China Berry (Melia azedarach), Poongaoil Pongamia (Pongamia pinnata Merr.), bishop wood (Bischofia javanica), Formosan Ash (Fraxinus griffithii C. B. Clarke), Taiwan Acacia (Acacia confusa), and the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora).

The Forestry Bureau explained that in the early days, afforestation work was mostly carried out by relevant government agencies with specific budgets, but with the recent push of net-zero carbon emissions policies, environmental awareness has been raised, and more and more people and corporate groups recognize the importance of afforestation. Donations have been provided to support the Forestry Bureau's corporate adoption afforestation program. As of 2022, 14 organizations or individuals have adopted state-owned afforestation land under the jurisdiction of the Forestry Bureau, and 28,000 native tree saplings have been planted. The Bureau welcomes all to continue to join the ranks of carbon sequestration by adopting trees and planting trees to create a beautiful and sustainable home through green eco-networks.
