In recent years, Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung has guided Taya Group in discovering its second and third growth curves, transforming it from a traditional cable manufacturer into a leading brand in energy integration management. He emphasizes the "Five Electric Poles" theory, setting short-term goals and long-term plans to propel the company toward growth and success.

Climbing Peaks with the Five Electric Poles Theory

When discussing management strategies, Shen often compares his experiences to cycling. Although he enjoys swimming and running and occasionally rides his bike during his leisure time, he took up cycling more seriously after a friend's invitation. He has even cycled Wuling twice, finding the experience enlightening for his life philosophy.

He shares that cycling up a hill can be quite exhausting. However, he counts five electric poles each time he rides and sets a goal to reach the distance of those five poles. By counting every 50 meters, he gradually reaches his target, then continues to the next set of five poles. Eventually, he arrives at his destination.

This experience taught Shen, Shang-Hung that while dreams can be grand, they must be supported by short-term goals. Setting simple objectives provides psychological satisfaction and motivation to advance to the next stage. As long as one continues moving forward, the ultimate goal can be achieved.

Taya Group has evolved from a cable manufacturer to a leading brand in energy integration management, starting from a small initial idea. Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung shared that during the government's early promotion of offshore wind power demonstration units, Taya Group researched offshore wind energy and participated in bidding. At that time, they secured the first reserve spot in the bidding process, which built significant confidence and led to the idea of becoming a "leading brand in energy integration." They began with small rooftop solar projects, gradually progressing to the present day, where Taya Group has developed 74 rooftop and ground-mounted solar power plants.

Shen expressed that people often feel dreams are out of reach, but opportunities for realization do exist. The key lies in resilience and patience. This process can often lead to thoughts of giving up, but by applying the "Five Electric Poles" method, one can continuously achieve a sense of accomplishment throughout the journey. This sense of achievement is crucial for propelling individuals forward, and he frequently shares this philosophy with his employees.

Developing Second and Third Growth Curves

In addition to the "Five Electric Poles" theory, Shen maintains a disciplined and rigorous lifestyle, reflecting this style in the company's operations. Taya Group has shown steady development and has been exploring second and third growth curves in the green energy sector and Taya Venture, bringing about good profitability.

Shen stated that he goes to bed early and wakes up early, rising at 4 a.m. to begin addressing work matters. This time is the most critical part of his day because it is the quietest, and his mind is clearest, allowing for optimal judgment on any task.

Furthermore, regarding work attitudes, Shen emphasized that to excel in a job, it is crucial to cultivate a "good to better" competitive spirit. He often encourages young people entering the workforce to possess both ambition and a competitive spirit, which are invaluable assets. This inner drive of competitive spirit leads to continuous improvement in work quality, enabling both young professionals and managers to approach their tasks more comprehensively and move toward success.
