TAYA Testing Laboratory Expands into Railway Vehicle Material Testing
2025/09/24
First laboratory in Taiwan to obtain TAF accreditation for railway material conventional toxicity index testing (FTIR) and optical density testing
In addition to deeply cultivating its core wire and cable business, TAYA Group has actively extended its professional testing capabilities to diverse industries. In response to the government’s “Domestic Train Manufacturing” policy, the TAYA Testing Laboratory participated in the “Railway Vehicle Material and Component Fire Testing Technology Development Project” led by a professional team from National Cheng Kung University. By entering the field of railway vehicle material testing, TAYA took the lead in passing TAF accreditation for two testing methods: railway material conventional toxicity index testing (Gas FTIR) and optical density testing (ISO 5659-2). It has become the first third-party impartial testing organization in Taiwan accredited for these two testing technologies, marking the first step for Taiwan’s railway material testing technology and writing a new chapter in Taiwan’s railway history.
TAF Accreditation + ILAC MRA International Mutual Recognition = Borderless Trust
In a globalized market environment, product quality and the reliability of testing data determine whether enterprises can cross borders and enter international markets. Unlike ordinary laboratory testing data that may lack credibility and international recognition, the TAYA Testing Laboratory not only holds TAF accreditation—ensuring professionalism and accuracy in every test through strict standards—but has also obtained ILAC MRA international mutual recognition. This allows our testing reports to carry global credibility. From quality control to international recognition, we are not only executors of testing, but also reliable partners for enterprises entering international markets.
Protecting Transportation Safety Starts with Materials
“In Taiwan, where transportation networks are highly developed, railway transportation (metro systems, high-speed rail, and trains) has become an essential part of daily travel. The quality of components inside railway carriages—such as seats, flooring, ceilings, advertising panels, handrails, and frames—are all related to railway transportation safety. The testing laboratory functions like a ‘health check center’ for railway materials. Through rigorous testing, we ensure that materials comply with international standards and safety regulations. This not only helps prevent accidents, but also enables railway systems to operate stably, allowing passengers to travel with greater peace of mind.”
The TAYA Testing Laboratory has introduced high-precision testing equipment to provide comprehensive safety data and jointly safeguard the safety of Taiwan’s railway transportation.
Application Scope Beyond Railway Materials

The two testing technologies certified this time are not only applicable to railway material testing, but also include safety testing and analysis of combustion characteristics for environmental detection, aerospace, transportation interior electronics, plastics, and composite materials. Through internationally standardized professional testing, the TAYA Testing Laboratory not only supports Taiwan’s railway industry, but also helps diverse industries enhance safety standards, demonstrating its cross-industry technical capabilities.
