Taya Group Celebrates 68th Anniversary Through Golf: "Linking You and Me to the World" [by GolfDigest]
Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung: Aspires for Continued Growth and Sustainable Operations.
Established in 1955, Taya Group, a leader in energy chain management, recently hosted an impressive golf tournament at the Miramar Golf Country Club to commemorate its 68th anniversary. Alongside inviting corporate partners, the event featured numerous professional players, providing over a hundred guests with a delightful experience amidst picturesque weather and ambiance.

Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung of Taya Group (as depicted in the picture) conceived the concept of corporate social responsibility during a 2006 business trip, subsequently fostering related visions. Beyond its core operations, Taya Group excels in diverse areas such as corporate governance, sustainability, and environmental protection.

After a 28-year hiatus, Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung of Taya Group (seen second from the right in the picture) reaffirmed dedication to sustained growth, development, and the path towards achieving centennial status.
Originating from the electrical wire and cable sector, Taya Group has spent the last 68 years refining a business framework centered around its core operations. Expanding into renewable energy in 2014, it has evolved into an energy chain management entity offering comprehensive services from energy generation, transmission, conversion, to storage and management. Taya Group maintains its commitment to leading the way in energy integration, advocating for eco-friendly environments and aesthetically pleasing residences, and earning trust as an enterprise among employees, customers, shareholders, and society at large. Its mission encompasses “fostering enlightened employees, satisfied customers, positive shareholders, and pristine homeland”.

Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung prioritizes efficient time management, dedicating most of his office hours to meetings and communication. Regarding decision-making authority, he emphasizes achieving significant leverage benefits in the projects he oversees.
Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung of Taya Group, who has been passionate about sports since his youth and was introduced to golf by his father, now boasts over 40 years of experience in the sport. His extensive golf career has honed his skills to a remarkable level, narrowly missing hole-in-one shots on several occasions and achieving two hole-in-one records, highlighting his precision and mastery of the game. Due to his busy schedule, Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung adheres to a routine of early bedtime and early rising, often waking up at 4 a.m. to attend to business matters, read, and exercise before heading to the office. He dedicates one day each week to early morning golf, teeing off as part of the first group at Miramar Golf Country Club during the summer, finishing by 8:15 a.m., and then proceeding to work. Chairman Ryan Shen draws parallels between golf and business management, emphasizing the importance of preparation. He believes in warming up before each game, mirroring the necessity of readiness in business endeavors. At the start of a round, Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung usually doesn't set overly high expectations for himself, opting not to immediately aim for Par or birdies. Instead, he tests the waters and familiarizes himself with the course before making aggressive moves. In golf, second chances are rare. Once the ball is in play, you must accept the outcome without the option to replay. Managing a business shares this trait; both the marketplace and the golf course demand decisive action because there are no trial runs. Mistakes are lessons, motivating us to improve for the next round. However, even in success, humility is key; always stay prepared for the next challenge.

As part of Taya Group's 68th-anniversary celebrations, a golf event was held at Miramar Golf Country Club in Linkou on December 27, 2023, bringing together over a hundred professional and amateur guests to share in the festivities.
After the 40th-anniversary celebration, Taya Group's 68th-anniversary golf event returned after 28 years on December 27, 2023. Over a hundred guests gathered at the Miramar Golf Country Club, including the invited professional female players Tzu-yun Ting, Ching-ling Chang, Hsiao-ling Wu, and Yu-lin Hung, as well as business acquaintances such as Chien-yao Hung, who recently won a bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and Sung-Po Yu, who recently earned qualification for the 2024 Japan Tour. Professionals and amateurs came together on this beautiful winter day to share a joyful time under the warm sunshine.

Based on the concept of giving back to society, Taya Group has expanded its sponsorship efforts in recent years to include the golf sector, aiming to provide more opportunities and assist in nurturing emerging talents. The goal is to see more Taiwanese players rise to the global stage and compete on equal footing with players from other countries. In addition to becoming one of the sponsors for TLPGA, Taya Group has also recently started sponsoring amateur player Chun-wei Wu and has been sponsoring professional player Tzu-yun Ting for the past three years.

Tzu-yun Ting enrolled at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2014, where she played on the women's golf team. After graduating, she transitioned to the Women's All Pro Tour (WAPT) in the United States and returned to Taiwan in 2020, planning to enter the Japan Tour in 2024.
Tzu-yun Ting is deeply grateful for the sponsorship provided by Taya Group. She noted that golfers face many pressures at the beginning of their careers. With Taya Group's full support, she can participate in competitions without worry. Additionally, Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung often invites her to industry gatherings, allowing her to accumulate valuable ideas and insights through exchanges with entrepreneurs. Drawing from her own experience of studying in the United States and joining a team, she encourages many upcoming talents to step out of their comfort zones and become independent early on, preparing to face the challenges that will arise in their professional careers.

Chairman Shen, Shang-Hung leads Taya Group with an innovative mindset for future adaptation, guiding the company toward its centennial milestone.
As Taya Group enters its 68th year, Shen, Shang-Hung believes that the company must continue moving forward while embracing an innovative mindset. He is willing to provide opportunities for young people to excel and is also open to taking risks. The goal is to lead the company along an innovative path through multiple attempts, improving communication between the brand and consumers. In 2020, Taya Group initiated the "Brand Year," releasing the "Steady Power" image video and hosting the "Steady Power" wire art exhibition. In 2023, they also hosted the "Energy: Point, Line, and Plane" energy art exhibition and, after a 28-year hiatus, organized a golf tournament. Through these innovative endeavors and communication across various sectors, they aspire to uphold this spirit for sustainable operations in the future.
