Shih Chien University Department of Industrial Design has been a major spawning ground for Taiwan's design talents. In recent years, it has been actively incorporating environmental and green ideas into its teachings. Meanwhile, led by Chairman Shen Shanghong, Ta Ya Electric Wire and Cable has also begun to promote green living. Referred by media service company "Vizeum," the two entities found their interests aligned and began an industry-academia collaboration program since September 2012. After one year, the program gave birth to 10 products. Ta Ya has made its commitment to continually sponsor this program in the future, so that every designer will carry with them a green DNA to help them in their future designs.

Chairman Shen said: "Ta Ya is constantly concerned about building a pristine homeland. To do so, it requires both environmental and cultural aspects." This is the reason why the company has introduced the concept of green living, as it hopes to inspire green creativity in every aspect of life from food, clothing, living, traveling, education to entertainment. Apart from its ongoing "Green Inside Project," Ta Ya has been working with Shih Chien University Department of Industrial Design since 2012 to help young students commercialize their ideas, however unrealistic they may be.

This collaboration had earned good compliments from teachers and students of Shih Chien University, while Chairman Shen had also expressed satisfaction with the result. He said: "It is satisfying to see ideas turned into actual products, but what's more important is that we incorporate green ideas into our daily lives."
