First Group Verification Case for Aquavoltaics, Proactively Meeting New Regulatory Requirements
2025/11/24

The Phase I aquavoltaics site of Zhiguang Energy, a subsidiary of TAYA Group, obtained aquatic product production and sales traceability certification for the entire site on November 14, 2025.
The Phase I aquavoltaics site of Zhiguang Energy under Taihan Group (1609) (with a total installed capacity of 85MW and covering an area of 114 hectares) obtained aquatic product production and sales traceability certification for the entire site on November 14, 2025. It is the first aquavoltaics project to pass “group verification” and is also among the few aquavoltaics sites that completed full-site traceability implementation prior to the official promulgation and enforcement of the draft amendment to the Regulations for Reviewing Applications for Agricultural Land Used for Agricultural Facility Permits. The traceability verification for this project was commissioned to National Chiayi University. Through the participation of a professional academic institution in the verification process, the credibility and professionalism of the system are further enhanced.

Obtaining full-site traceability certification for the Zhiguang project marks an important milestone for TAYA Group in implementing ESG, promoting sustainable aquaculture, and fostering shared prosperity with local communities.
The verification takes Zhiguang Energy as the principal entity and includes all cooperating aquaculture farmers within the site, establishing unified aquaculture records and inspection mechanisms so that products can be traced throughout the entire process from fry stocking, cultivation, to harvest, further strengthening food safety trust and market competitiveness. The verified species mainly include hard clams, grouper, yellowtail scad, and Taiwan tilapia. In the future, white shrimp, milkfish, and other species are also planned to be gradually incorporated into the traceability certification process, expanding the management and quality assurance of diversified aquaculture species within the site.
TAYA Group has long been committed to the development of aquavoltaics, taking “aquaculture as the foundation” as the core concept for site development. Every year, the Group invests more than NT$10 million to improve aquaculture environments and facilities, while assisting farmers in introducing intelligent aquaculture systems such as water quality monitoring and remote monitoring, continuously enhancing aquaculture resilience and stability and reducing risks caused by extreme weather and environmental changes.

Chairman Shen Shang-Hong of TAYA Group stated that aquavoltaics is not only a combination of power generation and rental income but also a long-term commitment to “co-management and shared growth” with local aquaculture farmers.
