The signing ceremony was hosted by Mr. Shen Shang-Hung, Chairman of Ta Ya Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd (right) and Mr. Wu Tang-Chieh, Chairman of Hua Nan Commercial Bank Ltd. on behalf of the two companies. Mr. Shen pointed out that corporate growth relies on support from banks. The new government has taken the initiative in the development of offshore wind power which explains the rising popularity of this energy source. Mr. Shen reaffirmed his firm conviction that Chairman Wu will offer his full support to businesses engaged in the fields of solar power generation and on- and offshore wind power.
Mr. Shen also shared two personal stories related to Hua Nan Bank. His late father Shen Chin-Chen had business dealings with the Tainan Branch of Hua Nan Bank. One of the bank tellers at that time still remembers his father’s company checking account. This bank teller is Mr. Huang Bi, the current manager of the Tainan Branch. Mr. Shen is full of praise for the service attitude of the bank personnel. Despite the fact that the Taipei branch relocated to the Wugu District of New Taipei City in 1992, the Ximen Branch of the bank still dispatches dedicated personnel to provide services for the branches in Wugu and Linkou.
Mr. Shen stated that Taya Group engaged in solar power generation two years ago. In mid-2018, a capacity of 25MW will be connected to the grid and the goal is an annual increase by 10MW. This target may be raised if good opportunities arise under the premise of stable operations of the group. Premier William Lai and Minister of Economic Affairs Shen Jung-Chin are highly familiar with and fully support green energy. Mr. Shen suggests that the government accelerate the adoption of supporting measures for green energy infrastructure. This will help the government approach its 2025 green energy goal.
Mr. Wu stated that the signing ceremony for the “Photovoltaics Strategic Alliance” between the bank and Ta Ya Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd signals a demand for sustainable corporate operations, relying on the vision of Mr. Shen and underscoring the need for relevant government policies. The government has set itself the goal of increasing the green energy ratio and investments in green power generation to 20% and 1.8 trillion NTD, respectively, in 2025. Solar power generation is expected to account for 73% of total green power capacity, which will generate new business opportunities worth 100 billion NTD each year. The bank will form a Green Energy Project Financing Task Force in response to these opportunities.
Taya Group has deep roots in Taiwan. The company has also established production bases in Mainland China and Vietnam. It is a trailblazer in many fields including the development of 69KV high voltage, 161KV ultra high voltage, and 345KV extra high voltage cables.
