The electric wireand cable sector has been an important basic industry of the country. It covers the electricity delivery of special industries such as electricity generation, heavy equipment, infrastructures and shipping, with a total output value of more than 150 billion NT dollars equivalent to the output value of popular industries like biotechnology and aerospace. To respond to the growing business opportunities of renewable energy construction, TAYA develops the sector with innovation and foresight. Starting with our basic product - electric wires and cables, we are aiming to diversify into energy production, transmission, storage and transformation. TAYA Group was the first electric cable company to be devoted to renewable energy power generation and energy storage, and has been actively engaging in sectors such as combined heat and power, solar power plants and electrochemistry energy storage system. For renewable energy production, TAYA has spent 4 billion NT dollars for solar power plants, and a greater scale up to 120MW in 2020 is estimated. We have planned to devote up to 6 billion NT dollars in total, and an annual power generation of 840 million kWh is expected, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 216 Da'an Forest Park.
In 2019, Ta Ya further utilized the experienced R&D technologies and patent portfolios to enter the global energy storage market. Moreover, we established the independent 200 kW “TaYa Energy Storage Microgrid” with 600 kWh of electricity for the plant in Tainan Guanmiao to integrate the energy storage, electrity equipment, environment control and grid information. The system enables the plant in Tainan Guanmiao to have the comprehensive electricity control service and allows us to acquire the value from promotion of the innovative environmental protection and energy saving and become a leading brand of the energy connection network.
Performing CSRs, funding startups in Taiwan and building beautiful homeland
We have developed our business in Taiwan for years. In addition to the main business and for the purpose of motivating the new industries and young entrepreneurs in Taiwan, we have established the Taya Venture Capital and has invested in the biotechnology, new energy, semiconductor, cultural and creative and digital technology industries, including our global strategic partner for the AR/VR platform, iStaging which has worked with WinWay Technology, a well-known semiconductor test interface manufacturer, Google, Intel, Microsoft and ASUS and FHB Biomedical, a corporate reconignized by the National Innovation Award for its R&D of the immunotherapy. Ta Ya has assisted and invested more than 30 corporates and will continue to fund the starups in Taiwan.
In addition, Ta Ya has deemed the performance of CSRs as the mission since the establishment. We formed the TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation in 2011 and has actively promoted the ideas of talent cultivation, life caring, sustainable earth and funded environmental-friendly activities. According to the data from the Ministry of the Interior, the majority of fires are caused by short circuit. Therefore, the TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation and the Taiwan Professional Electrical Engineers Association jointly organized the “Old House Electricity Safety Inspection” and have had 196 houses over 30 years old in Taiwan to be completely inspected to ensure the safe use of the electricity equipment for the public with our expertise. Moreover, in order to encourage the public to protect our environment, we started the “Green Collection Selection” in 2007 and have awarded 12 million over the past ten years to encourage hundreds of entrepreneurs to devote themselves to the environmentally-friendly activities with respect to the renewable energy, rainwater recycling, friendly agriculture, green transportation and environmental education. About Ta Ya Group
“Ta Ya Enterprise,” the former name of the Ta Ya Electric Wire and Cable, was founded by Shen, Ta-Chih and Shen, Chin-Chen in 1955, renamed the Ta Ya Electric Wire and Cable Co., Ltd. and began to produce magnet wires for electrokinetic energy conversion other than high-voltage rubber cables in 1967.
