The TAYA Pristine Homeland Foundation is committed to realizing the corporate vision of being the promotor of a Friendly Environment and Pristine Homeland and has always cared about the development of Taiwan’s natural environmental Friendliness. On September 23, it hosted the 2023 Delonix Regia Forum and Green Insider Project with the theme “Island of Mountains and Seas”. This year’s focus is to explore the humanistic demeanor shaped by the mountains and seas of the island, reflecting our love and respect for this land.

Taiwan is a treasure island connected by abundant mountains and seas. The theme of Pristine Homeland Foundation this year encourages a harmonious coexistence between people and the mountains and seas of this land. The first session of the forum was a speech given by Chou, Sheng-Hsin, of the Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association, about “Sustainable Life Action - Starting from the Diverse Practices of Trail Sports”. The discussion explored how people engage in dialogue with the land by discovering humanistic, historical, and ecological aspects represented by different types of trails. These trails connect people and places in the practice of sustainable living. Later on, the focus shifted to Alang Yi Trail, which the Group has been concerned about for quite some time. Professor Chang, Tzu-Chau, Graduate Institute of Sustainability Management and Environmental Education, National Taiwan Normal University, and Director of the Pristine Homeland Foundation served as the host. He, along with He, Chen-Tan, Director of the Pristine Homeland Foundation and Yu Cheng-Hao, President of the Alang -Yi Trail Guide Association, discussed how to promote the unique features of Alang Yi from the perspective of environmental education. The final session was hosted by Liu, Po-Hung, Director of the Pristine Homeland Foundation and Founder of Classic & Original, guiding Alang Yi's tribal kitchen representative Lo Pei-Wen and local designer Hui Hui Shanzhan to share how design can be integrated into environmental sustainability to create vitality, promote local revitalization and achieve sustainable ecological tourism. Through discussions and appeals from local community members and sustainability advocacy groups, the forum aimed to increase public awareness of sustainability and encourage its practice in daily life.

Chairman Shen Shang-Hung also shared, "I have been to Alang-Yi Trail several times and often found it filled with marine debris. Therefore, I came up with the idea of reducing the waste of Alang Yi Trail.” A homeland is forever, and humans’ effort to make the environment better is a key to achieving the vision of a "Pristine Homeland."

Since 2008, Taya Group has been promoting the Green Inside Project, inviting organizations that care about human and environmental protection in Taiwan to participate and provide assistance to the winners. Chen, Shih-Ning, CEO of the foundation, stated, “The foundation has been established for 13 years. Over the years, the themes have become increasingly diverse, covering issues such as biodiversity, community redevelopment, cultural heritage preservation, and environmental sustainability, all of which are the concerns of Taya. The Pristine Homeland Foundation encourages those who continue to contribute to the environment. Since 2018, a dual-track system has been adopted. Apart from winner selection, the Green Integration Award has been set up to encourage previous “Green Inside Project Award” winners to participate again. We especially encourage collaboration and innovation among winners.” This year, the “Chia-Tzu-Tou Sugar Refinery - Carbon-Negative Base Social Practice” won the Southern Spirit Award, a special award given to those who have been involved in environmentally friendly work for more than 10 years and have had a broad impact on society.
